Life in Saskatchewan
In recent weeks we've talked a lot about what Saskatchewan has to offer the world. But what's it like to live there? Enjoying a high quality of life.
The people of Saskatchewan enjoy a high quality of life thanks to the many services and opportunities the province offers. We have vibrant cities, peaceful towns, and a rich culture. As the birthplace of healthcare in North America, our residents enjoy free medical care. Our diverse topography offers recreational activities amidst beautiful lakes, parks, and lush landscapes. We have professional sports teams, world-class museums, outdoor adventures, and unique restaurants.
Save on the cost of living
Saskatchewan has some of the lowest housing prices in Canada, making homeownership a realistic goal here. Residents also benefit from some of the lowest utility rates in the country. In addition, families have access to government-subsidized childcare that costs only $10 a day.
Study at renowned educational institutions
Education is free for students from preschool through grade 12, and students can enroll in English- or French-speaking schools. After graduating from high school, the province boasts numerous higher education institutions, including the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic, among others. Students can earn degrees, professional certifications, and continue their professional development. Eligible students, including international students, may be eligible for tuition reimbursements of up to $20,000 Canadian for studying in the province.
